Important COVID-19 Updates

July 1, 2020

The COVID-19 Pandemic event has greatly impacted all of our daily lives, and Eastern Savings Bank continues to monitor and adapt to rapidly changing conditions. In order to keep our valued customers, associates, and our community safe, the following branch operating procedures are effective as of Monday, July 6, 2020:

To assist with social distancing, a maximum of three customers at a time may access each branch location to make a deposit, withdrawal, loan payment, or transfer funds between accounts. In addition, face coverings, as defined in Governor Hogan’s Executive Order on Masks and Social Distancing, are required to conduct business at all branch locations. We reserve the right to ask customers to remove their face coverings so we may confirm their identity.

We also encourage the use of our night depositories (aka – night drop) for transactions that do not require cash back. We will be retrieving transactions placed in the night drop numerous times throughout the business day in order to process the transactions.

If you need service that cannot be handled in the manner described above, please contact your branch office to set up an appointment. These additional services include accessing a safe deposit box, IRA deposits and withdrawals, obtaining a new ATM card, or to make other necessary account changes.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of our other banking services that allow for banking without the need to visit a branch. These services include EasternEase online banking, mobile banking that allows remote deposits, EMMA (410.568.6307 or 877.528.7786) our telephone banking system, by visiting one of the surcharge free ATMs on the Allpoint® or MoneyPass® networks or by using postal mail.

Please contact your branch to address any questions or concerns and thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. By working together and implementing these changes, we strive to do our part to limit the impact COVID-19 has on our community.

March 23, 2020

To Our Valued Customers,

Due to extraordinary circumstances and the Order issued on Monday March 23, 2020 by Governor Hogan, we will be temporarily closing our Hunt Valley Corporate Office and our Lutherville and Ellicott City branches to the public.  Our Pikesville and Fullerton branches will remain open on a limited schedule and with adjusted operating procedures.

During the hours of 10am to 3pm Monday through Friday only, a branch associate will greet each customer at the door and allow them just inside the doorway one at a time, for those who need to make a deposit, withdrawal, loan payment, or transfer funds between accounts.  This is to allow for recommended social distancing, so please feel free to wait in your vehicle until it is your turn.

We also encourage the use of our night depositories (aka – night drop) for transactions that do not require cash back.  Any transaction placed in the night drop at any branch (including Ellicott City and Lutherville) by 3pm Monday through Friday will be posted that same business day.

If you need service that cannot be handled in the manner described above, please contact our customer service center at the number below to set up an appointment.  These additional services include accessing a safe deposit box, IRA deposits and withdrawals, obtaining a new ATM card, or to make other necessary account changes.  Although we remain willing to serve your banking needs, we ask that you postpone all non-essential transactions for the time being.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of our other banking services that allow for banking without the need to visit a branch.  These services include EasternEase online banking, mobile banking that allows remote deposits, EMMA 410.568.6307 or 877.528.7786 our telephone banking system, by visiting one of the surcharge free ATMs on the Allpoint® or MoneyPass® networks or by using postal mail. Please visit our website (easternsavingsbank.com) for information on these and other services in order to optimize your banking solutions.

Eastern Savings Bank

March 13, 2020

Dear Valued Customers,

Amid ongoing concerns about the Coronavirus (“COVID-19”), Eastern Savings Bank is actively monitoring reports and briefings from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and has taken a number of precautionary measures for the health and safety of our customers and employees.  At this time, other than taking the measures listed below, our offices remain open.

We have contingency plans in place in the event a pandemic prompts national health officials to limit business activities. Your health and safety, along with that of our employees, is a top priority of Eastern Savings Bank.

Our Pandemic Plan follows guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local public health authorities in the areas we serve. Implementing the Plan ensures that we have the right level of resources and risk management devoted to your health and safety during this time of public health and economic stress.  The goal of this effort is to make sure we provide a flexible and appropriate response to the risk caused from this virus.  There are enough unknowns about the COVID-19 virus that caution is warranted.

While not a comprehensive list, the Plan calls for, and we:

  1. Have augmented daily cleaning procedures in our office and branch locations with the use of stronger disinfectant products on high-touch surfaces, have made hand sanitizer readily available, and are educating our employees on best practices recommended by the CDC.
  2. Are keeping our products and services fully available to you;
  3. Are supporting our employees that are at-risk or have special needs;
  4. Are monitoring the financial markets and discussing options for customers to meet their changing financial needs;
  5. Have eliminated non-essential business travel and limited all other business purpose travel until further notice and are using teleconference capabilities instead;
  6. Are modifying, postponing or cancelling large meetings; and
  7. Have enhanced our risk monitoring and management.

Customers are encouraged to use one of our online banking options (for example, EasternEase online banking, Mobile banking, or EMMA telephone banking) or visit one of the surcharge free ATMs on the Allpoint® or MoneyPass® networks in lieu of visiting one of our branch offices.

Our objectives are not only an exercise in limiting business disruption, but of leadership in a time of need.  This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will continue to communicate with you on developments as they arise. As always, we are here for you should you have any questions or concerns.  You may reach us by calling 410.785.2200 or 800.737.7ESB (7372).
